Awful service and bad attide from staff member in Bromley store, food section. I have just had major surgery and I was waiting for my wife who was buying quite a lot of stuff. There was only one chair for customer use by the food checkout. I asked a member of staff, a Mrs King why there was only only one chair! She replied 'because people come in all the time to picnic'. When I challenged this she became very aggresive. I asked for a manager but she said that 'all the managers and all the floor supervisors were in a meeting'. I simply don't believe it! I have tried to complain by phone but it's impossible.

The Customer Treatment in M&S instore is ATROCIOUS!!! Friday 13th (!) October: I was treated like a liar, told I could Not return 2 stale products, instead I had to go through Customer Services! The items in question were chocolate covered Brazil nuts and chocolate covered pretzels which I bought with other things for my mother’s 97th Birthday. I traipsed them to her (2.5hour journey on public transport). Then back home, then to the store and then back home again Despite having my receipt and Despite the weight evidencing no change in weight. I had eaten one of each. They came from the new dispensing machines you weigh yourself. I felt an Idiot standing there trying to argue with the Manager Mohammed. Company Policy was basically all I got! The receipt counted for nothing. He then returned to find me and said he was told it was Impossible for the machine to dispense a stale product!! Really! Now adding insult to injury, again in the middle of the store. At present I have a health issue so it was an effort to get there, then back. Again he wasn’t inclined to help. Now wouldn’t You want to know and be grateful if someone took the time to tell you your products are stale??! I have shopped in the store - it’s now converted to food only - for 25 years. I know staff there. They are lovely. I told him it was appalling and Waitrose would Never behave like that. Cut to the chase I spent 1/2 an hour on the phone with Customer Services and all they can do is issue a refund. No compensation for everything I had been put through, time wasted, the humiliation….. Not possible, you got it….Customer Policy!! No method of escalation. The Supervisor would say the same thing. Unbelievable! M&S used to stand for quality. Clearly the customer is an irrelevancy once they have made their purchase. I felt insulted and aggrieved and Will take this further. The store incidently is in Hackney, East London.

Money being taken from my bank account and then same transaction put on again as pending but with different authorisation code. Customer services said go to store to sort it out. As I am disabled it is very difficult as I explained to no avail. Only use cash if you go to M.S. as if something goes wrong you are on your own.

My aunt and I had a lovely lunch at the Flagship branch (Oxford Street) and had an excellent first class Customer Service by a lovely young chap called Saj. I observed his style of service in the dining hall, towards others and he is all smiles and pleasantries.

Not very impressed just lately with various items of food. Eg. Sliced bread rather stale, pears which I purchased did not ripen even after keeping them for 2 weeks, bananas looked OK but as soon as u take them out of shop they start to deteriorate and ripen and go rotten, low fat sausages no taste in them tasted disgusting. Come on M&S please try and do better.

I can understand why so many consumers are putting up negative reviews for M&S, as this company has really lost its market and are treating consumers with contempt with no shame what so ever. Both my wife are I are shareholders and customers of M&S. We normally shop at our local M&S in the local area and have no issues giving our loyalty to our local store. However on 21 June 2023 we were in the NW9 area and visited simply food store at NW9 OAW. After completing our shopping at the store at around 17.20pm we proceeded to pay for our shopping and were told by a very rude assistant that no tills are open and we have to scan the items in a self-service checkout. Whilst we were scanning the items we could NOT hear any bleeps and assumed that it was scanning properly. We packed our shopping as the till area was impossible to move with other customers bumping into each other, and the store assistance doing absolutely nothing, to help customers… it felt like a market in Baghdad not an M&S in UK. As I got to the entrance after packing my shopping, I had a gut feeling that the shopping could not be worth £20.60 so I decided to check the receipt, whilst I was in the store. I realised that some items were scanned twice an overcharge of nearly £5 or 20% when it should have been £16. I went back to the rude assistant that was near the till who was rude again and gave my wife a verbal lecture in a patronising way, and said that she will train my wife in how she should be scanning items in a store. This was both rude and disrespectful, as how can a member of staff behave in this pathetic way to a customer is beyond words. We then asked for a supervisor, who demonstrated that the tills were indeed faulty and over sensitive as it was not our fault that some items got scanned twice whilst packing. She also told us that this is an ongoing problem at this branch, as many other customers have had the same problems when they check out goods at the self-service till, as an item will be scanned by the customer and whilst packing, the scanner will scan the same item again, as the scanner beam picks up the bar code umpteen times over resulting in a big CON and overcharges to M&S customers I’m sure some customers are too busy and don’t even check their receipts, but this is nothing short of scam, which is unacceptable. If we had not checked our receipt we would have indeed been ripped off by M&S with a double charge. I can understand that the public is going through the cost of living crises, but I didn’t think that M&S will resort to such tactics of overcharging customers, not to mention that if this is a problem was reported to the area manager many times over by the store, why are M&S customers not made aware?, and on the contrary a till staff being rude with us. M&S customers are not responsible to bring such company operational shortcomings as with respect M&S employ an area manager, who are paid to this job and not a customer. Consequently, we demanded that the entire shopping is refunded as we simply could not take the risk of being overcharged in this terrible way by UK,s most reputable retailer called M&S.

Fantastic staff at Scarborough cafe They go above expected service. Today I asked a question as to weather they sold something in the shop and they made a phone call and found out for me.There always helpful and a friendly team

we are collating various food price increases. A friend in MandS said a 'specific plan from management is in place to put up prices,even when they dont need to' Peanuts with Honey, a few months ago £1.30 today £1.50 this is accurate. Mand S and kings cross sells the same peanuts for £3.00!!! this is what iyour dealing with. MASS market price manipulation. please for the sake of our British Pensioners and those who are needy, keep updating the Facebook groups, and lets hope BBC will make that NEEDED documentary about M and S and price inflation for one reason only, to increase profits !!

I ordered a Turkey 12-14 serving on 18th OCTOBER and just had an email to say that particular one is out of stock, bearing in mind they had taken a £40 deposit too. They have replaced it with a 8-10 serving for the exact same price as the larger one i had ordered first. This is totally unacceptable, i did phone M&S but they were very unhelpful although they did say they would Refund my deposit by a gift card. Disgraceful then eventually they said they would refund my money into my account. In the end i opted for the replacement turkey. Quite honestly i am disgusted with how regular customers like myself and others have been treated. Your service is in disarray and quite frankly poor. Be careful M&S you might just lose your loyal customers who have supported your brand for many years!

Stopped for 5 minutes to buy food at M&S in a BP station near Stansted, received £170 fine! This is a scam and I'm seriously surprised M&S allow their brand to be tarnished like that! I'll never set foot in an M&S again!

M&S furniture - dreadful quality of product and service. Our 1st two sofas ordered had creaky frames and badly over-stuffed cushions. So we complained, but M&S doesn't deal with the furniture issues themselves, they sub-contract to a company called Castellan. The guy from them turned up and said they would repair them in our lounge (yes really!) - obviously we refused and the 2 sofas were returned. We re-ordered 2 more sofas and these turned up with horrible creases around the piping of the cushions and again badly stuffed back cushions. Castellan were sent photos and told M&S that they viewed the sofas and that there was nothing wrong, which was incorrect. So, we complained again to M&S and Castellan man was made to come out to inspect. His report says they are not faulty or poorly manufactured, it is our "perception". This report went back to M&S who emailed me to say they don't accept its faulty goods. When I phoned M&S to contest this the person I spoke to was not interested in listening or giving any kind of customer service. Our only option is to return the sofas for a refund upon payment of £25 courier charge, which is on top of the delivery charges for the first pair and the second pair which they won't refund (even though the first pair were agreed as faulty. In total we have spent £75 for the sofas we do not have.

Really disgusted that Marks & Spencer are requiring job APPLICANTS to provide their National Insurance number when completing online process. THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT SOMETHING ANYONE SHOULD DO AND TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. We all know this business is going down the pan but this sort of vonduct from their recruitment people is BAD.

Disgusting service from m and s furniture. Waited 5 months on total for furniture to be delivered fully. Excuses from Victoria at the executive team. And we are still waiting. The delivery service the use Wincanton are an absolute joke aswel. M and s constantly passing the buck. Please avoid ordering from these cowboys. Can't resolve a very simple issue. Shocked and disappointed.

Today Sunday the 22nd of May 2022, my wife and I visited the Shrewsbury store and made a purchase of various products. Then on visiting the restaurant we purchased our food and drink,'s. On visiting the toilet area, ì found the gentleman's out of order. I asked an employee, what the problem was. His answer was, waiting for spares for the toilet's. The smell was putred, even smells were coming over to the food area. I mentioned that being a food dining area that this isn't acceptable, and priorities should be quickly put in to place to remedy the problem. It's very annoying and unhygienic to carry on serving food until this problem is resolved. My appreciation for your support and endeavours to resolve this on going problem.

It gets crazy busy during lunch time. Hot food counter available and chilled meal options. There are several food trucks in the outside areas too.

Fresh food section has great options and is a very filling lunch. 2 downsides: several times the chicken option I was hoping to get was not available, as well as having to wait for sweet potato fries while people kept moving in line. 2nd and main issue: half members of the staff packing food at hot food section wore their hair down while it should be up and tidy to avoid accidentally losing hair on someone's plate!

Do not buy any sofas from marks and Spencer! Poor quality and even worse customer service. I’m highly disappointed and troubled with how you’ve handled my situation. I’ve been a loyal consumer for many many years. I purchased two sofas from you with excitement that the quality would be Marks and Spencer’s quality…I was wrong. I tried every sofa in the store and expected the same comfortable material to be delivered to my house. It was not. The sofas I received are hard as nails and extremely uncomfortable. To add insult to injury whilst sitting on one of the sofas the wood (support) underneath just snapped! I’m a 10st lady and a sofa should not just snap in half! I couldn’t believe it. After contacting the customer service department they said they would send out someone to inspect the sofa. After a report was sent to M&S I was told they would not fix it and I was not eligible for a refund due to the fact that it was not the manufacturers issue . I’m a 64 old, 10 stone women who lives alone with a dog…how could I have done this myself without the sofa being at fault? How can you just deny your customers of any resolution? I just feel so let down and taking advantage of. M+S are a massive corporate company that I’ve invested a lot of money and trust in. I really expected more. Please don’t waste or time or money buying any furniture from them, unless you want to gamble loosing a lot of money on an item that wasn’t even bought as advertised.

Good quality, broad range of choices, friendly behaviour. The warm food section is also a good option for a quick lunch.

I had to wait 5 days for a delivery date for this item that I was sending as a gift. On the 5th day M&S emailed me to say it had been damaged in transit and wouldn't be delivered. On trying to book a re-delivery it seemed I had to wait at least another 5 days for a delivery slot, my the time the gift would arrive it would be more than a week too late. The employee was apologetic there was nothing she could do with the system so I was refunded and sent a measly £10 compensation. I immediately got online and paid for a similar priced item for next day delivery with Waitrose!. Contrast that with the M&S outmoded system! I should have gone to Waitrose in the first place and will do in future. Also, to complain the only way is to fill out an online form, no email address. Shame on Marks and Spencer!

Appalling service at your Frome Somerset Branch today. Pre ordered items dropped no replacement available. Trying to over charge, no real apologies or trying to help the situation. Confrontational attitude from the Manager. I wouldn't even rate 1 star for this today. Not good enough service by far M&S. Complaint also submittted

Apalling customer service. Ordered Christmas tree in stock on website for store collection 2 days. Numerous emails and text messages later changing the collection date, but told 2 weeks later my item was popular and not available, buy another on website. I got a tree elsewhere but without my permission M&S reordered tree. Several expensive phone calls on hold for ages spoke to rude operator from call centre who said they cancelled order and arranged a refund. Since then I've had countless texts asking me to collect it from the store. M&S still have my money and won't reimburse after I've asked several times, all they keep doing is sending me emails/texts to collect a tree from the store which I didn't order. Perhaps if they spent less resources sueing other supermarkets and more concentrating on their own customers they might provide a half decent service.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Marks & Spencer, Derriford hospital, Plymouth. I recently bought a raffle ticket 🎟 in aid of Macmillan. I won 🏆. £50 worth of goodies. I was so happy when I got a phone call and completely overwhelmed when I collected my prize. The staff and manager are truly the nicest people. Always friendly and welcoming. I love shopping there every week when I go for my chemo and use the Willows one in Torquay too for a big shop. Posted a pic but don't know where it went lol. Anyway thank you again for making my shopping experiences good ones. 👍🤪😘 xxxx

My 9 yr old daughter came into the Coventry City centre store with her Grandma to be fitted for her 1st training bra. After waiting 30 minutes for the lady to finish her tea break which she never arrived another lady had to step in. She told my daughter because she was only 9 and not developing she couldn't fit her for her 1st bra. Obviously this member of staff clearly needed to clean her glasses or go to specsavers as my daughter is developing and does need her 1st training bra. Surly if you offer a bra fitting service then that is what you are meant to give the customer!!! Disgusting service from M&S

Good selection for lunch but the people who work at M&S offices need to calm down and take a chill pill. As if they in some crazy rush. Prices seem to be sometimes higher than other M&S locations but hey ho.

I have been to this place so many times, and today in particular was an unnecessarily bad experience. I have paid at the self-checkout counter for ALL of my items, but one of the staff insisted that I should've scanned the barcode instead of inputting from the 'Look for item' section which I always do. They are basically the same price regardless, and I have paid for it! He insisted in printing and checking the receipt, which I didn't mind. He repeatedly accused that I did not paid for some of the items which were CLEARLY printed on there. After realizing that he was wrong, he didn't even bother to apologize and packed my items to usher me away. Don't get me wrong, M&S offers many good products hence I have been going to it a lot of times! This was just one of those unsatisfactory customer service/experience

Beware if you select specific date delivery it will not happen as the use Hermes courier and they deliver when it suits them. I had to take 2 days off work as parcels delivered during week not weekend as requested. M&S support admitted the knee this happens gave me 20% discount and refunded costs charged for specific date request. It's sign of the times. Online shopping and busy couriers BUT REALLY M&S you can do better this is not what is GOOD sort it out

Mother’s Day gifts lost by DHL My family ordered gifts for me since 28/01/21 and requested Nominated day delivery for 12/03/2021. We received notification from the delivery service DHL stating that the parcel will be delivered on the next working day which is Monday 15/03/21. Hello Mother‘s Day is Sunday 14/03/21 therefore the Service Level Agreement (SLA) is breached. We rang M&S 12/03/21 and they were not informed by DHL. We asked for full refund because M&S told us that the parcel would arrive next Tuesday 16/03/21 which is past the date and the flowers would be no longer fit for purpose. We are very upset that M&S online who let us down and I have no Mother’s Day gifts.

The store has large panes of very clear and clean glass,one of which has a turnstile by it.I walked into it beleiving it to be an open door,unlike windows in adjacent shops there are no white dots to indicate that its a pane of glass stretching from floor to ceiling.I banged my head rather hard and feel action should be taken by the store to prevent injury to customers

Looked all over the Shop but couldn't find the Ghost of Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson who used to Hang around the Vending machines in the Staff Restaurant in the Old Head Office on Baker Street. Holmes was well known for stealing packets of Hula Hoops and Watson those Packets of two fingers Shortbread .

Located at the M&S headquarters. You always have the opportunity to try first their new products. Relatively small and focused mainly for grab and go and ready meals options. Good partnership with wasabi sushi offering. Hot meal canteen at very competitive prices

Honestly what a gorgeous place. The food oh the food is heavenly with the hot kitchen. The head office upstairs is beautifully designed. The floor is made to look like textiles but is steel. The ladies as are very bright and with a funky design. I would be happy to work here. The canteen is gorgeous too. Stunning location.
