Purple Heart Moving Group

Evaluaciones

Absolute worst company to have move you. When we booked them we told them all we had and that we had a really heavy safe that needed to be moved. They sent 1 guy and a truck that was half full already. The 1 guy didn't have any help to load the truck and when he looked at what was needing moved he turned down the job. Purple heart then said sorry we can have someone out there in 10 days to move you. We said no as we needed to be moved that weekend which was why we scheduled it then. They then said ok and were going to keep the $2000 deposit we had paid. We said absolutely not and they said the only way we are getting our deposit back was by signing an NDA. They would have more negative reviews if they didn't have everyone sign an NDA if they got poor service.

DISASTER.. got delayed for a month, nobody answers the phone, a lot of the boxes were wet and books damaged. Furniture got damaged, careless and unprofessional. When trying to contact about the damages... you guessed it — nobody answered. But the the high fee was already charged of course .

Complete scam, overcharged us by hundreds after loading all our items. Literally paid more to move the items than they were worth. Don’t be fooled!

I moved from Denver to Minnesota—this moving group was the worst experience I have ever had by FAR. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Purple Heart moving company and everyone they contract out to is a massive scam. The quote of your overall moving price will be reasonable, at least at the start (they are fairly priced, at least based on what they claim on the internet). Then suddenly, you will be paying significantly more than what you originally agreed to—then the Purple Heart Moving company will immediately ignore your calls once you pay the down payment for the move. The customer service is terrible. The people are con artists and BE ON HIGH ALERT the entire time for scams. The Purple Heart Moving company then signs off your move to a sub-contractor (in our case it was Maps moving and Storage). I am not sure if the two companies are in cahoots but I’m guessing all of the corruption stems from the top of this business, the Purple Heart Moving Company. Yet, the Maps moving and storage is almost worse—they are mysognistic, aggressive, and crooks (at least the head foreman I dealt with who called himself ‘Guy’ and his brother ‘Mike’ both apparently from Israel). They showed up and claimed I had more items than were accounted for when we discussed over the phone and demanded more money. The Maps Moving and Storage has extremely aggressive movers and staff. They seem threatening and try to intimidate you from the moment they show up at your door (which they will arrive late, at least in my experience). Also, they will try to show up whenever they please—whether that be during pick up or delivery—and they will fight you on it. Stand your ground. If you are a female be aware that they are extremely sexist and look down upon women unless a man is present. I had to learn that the hard way. DO NOT HIRE THEM.

Do not hire this company. They are fraudulent, simply a broker posing as a mover. Better business Bureau has several open unresolved claims against them. I was a victim of this scheme.

Beware - this company is part of a network of moving company scammers. You can search for the owner of this company and find they work with/own other companies that are all scams. Google Safe and Secure Van Lines, Pinto's Moving, Protected Van Lines, Mega Van Lines... These are all owned by a small group of people, and each of these companies are scams. Please heed this warning.

BEWARE - This company is only a broker that will hire out your job to anyone! In our case it was SNY, the three stooges could honestly do a better job then they did. The damage to our household items tallied in the thousands. If we ever moved again I would set all our household goods on fire before I would use this company again.

I moved from West Virginia to Florida in April of 2020. Since we were building a new home, the majority of my furniture and belongings had to go into a storage unit for over a year until my home was completed. Upon the truck arriving we saw when the truck was opened our stuffed looked like it was thrown in the truck. The guys loaded it into the U-haul truck with care, however when they transferred it to the tractor trailer after they left our house it looked like it was thrown in the tractor trailer by the time it arrived in Florida. Boxes were smashed, leg was broken off a chair and the material ripped, a leg was broken off my curio cabinet. Plastic totes were smashed. Feet missing off my bed rails. Glasses and dishes were broken which were carefully packaged in bubble wrap and in a plastic tote. Furniture was scratched. I had to pay more when they picked up my belongings (which I knew) and again when they arrived at the destination (which I did not know). I picked this company thinking "Purple Heart" referred to veterans and had something to do with it. It did not and I felt like I was ripped off. $7500. I refer my friends, who ask me, not to select this company and if they are moving long distance - sell everything they possibly can and buy new rather than get ripped off. Solomon & Son was the actual relocation service that was assigned under the Purple Heart name. Contract states claims must be filed before 9 months after moving. Since my house took 12 months to finish -- my husband died just a few months before I moved in -- I missed the filing date.

DO NOT book with them! This company is an absolute SCAM! They are not a mover, they are a broker. The company that they hired to move me, Fragile Movers out of NJ have a 2 star review and are a total SCAM! The customer service number they had on their email to me was even fake. When I called Purple Heart to let them know and to cancel they would not refund me my deposit and had absolutely ZERO concern that they had hired a horrible and scammy company to move me. PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did! I am out so much money because of this horrible company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL NOT DELIVER WHAT THEY PROMISE!! We were told that trucks would arrive on June 16, 2021, at my client's home in Centennial, Colorado for a move to Iowa. No trucks. No calls, no notifications of any kind. That afternoon, after literally dozens of unanswered calls and messages, I reached someone who said "the truck had a flat tire and they were waiting for service". They promised the trucks would be there Thursday, June 17, by 9:00 am. Of course on Thursday, no trucks, no calls, no notifications. After dozens of additional attempts, I reached someone who said they were still trying to work on it. They gave me the name of the local company that they had subcontracted to, H&M Relocation, Aurora, CO. While I was unable to reach anyone at H&M, H&M contacted my client and after several conversations and a visit, they said they were not going to take the job. No notification from Purple Heart. Day three: June 18 2021: Still no trucks. My client was able to get through the the company and they said they were confirming with another company and would call my client right back. Of course, no such call ever came. No information. No commitment. No trucks. No answers. This company has failed to respond to my emails. They promised to call me directly with updates (never happened) and promised to call my client back immediately and of course didn't. The end of the day on Friday, no trucks, no movers, no information. This company took money from a senior citizen who's selling her home, and delivered NOTHING. The inconvenience and expense they have cause is inexcusable. This is beyond poor service - this is criminal, and frankly it's a scam. I'm filing criminal complaints through the Attorney General for financial fraud. THERE ARE OTHER CHOICES.... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Took our deposit for our move but couldn’t tell us the name of the company who would actually be doing the moving. They sent us Moon Lion Movers who showed up with a busted gooseneck trailer, no crew, and immediately tried telling us the cost was going to be more and we’d need another truck. I called Purple Heart to explain the situation and my hesitation. Purple Heart assured me they’ve had a good experience with these guys in the past. I made the mistake of trusting their words. WORST MOVE EXPERIENCE EVER. When the dust settled on the nightmare of a move and we complained to Purple Heart about the terrible service and experience we had, Purple Heart said they weren’t going to be doing anything to rectify the situation & wished us luck. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. THEY HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN MAKING YOUR MOVE RIGHT. Worst of all, they use the Purple Heart name in vain - shame on you for preying on people (especially the military) like this.

This company is a scam. I paid a large down payment/security deposit and after settling on the moving date, NEVER heard from them again despite countless calls to the office and many messages. Definitely do not use this company. They are unreliable and dishonest.

I will never use this company again. Purple Heart is just a broker….co-ordinating movers for shipments Its job was to inform and update me Never happened!!! Was given an estimate and every step of the way that price doubled. Was told it would take up to 21 days but it took over a month. Was promised that I would be informed. Never happened. I finally contacted the actuations; movers myself after much insistence. This smooth talking company failed me. The actual movers did an excellent job. Purple Heart….a disaster!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

I used this company to move across the state lines during the pandemic. A time when the stress levels were already high and everyone was vulnerable. In short the company takes no responsibility as soon as they have your money. They hire third party vendors for the move, which they do not cross check. The third party vendor "lost" my TV with no follow up if they will try to find it and no response. The company also took no responsibility for this. For all my grievance, they offered me 100$ in compensation. This was my first move, and maybe i was too gullible to expect people to be honest and have integrity. I hope no one else picks this company with the same hope. It would be smarter to use uhaul pods and local reliable movers.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I moved from Utah to Maryland and I initially got quoted $1800...... when the movers came, they charged me an extra $800 for two things I left out of the initial quote! They then said that I would take one week but guaranteed to be delivered in two weeks. Second week comes around and still no nothing. I called and my stuff was in storage in Vegas! They told me they had legally up to 30 days from the first available drop off date.... really wished someone told me that when I initially received the quote because I had nothing in my new place! This company never calls you back with updates and seem to always push you to the side until you have to get angry and demand answers.

Look this company up on BBB and Consumer Affairs before using them. They’re scam artists. Also check the other reviews from the people giving them 5 stars. They’re all bots that comment on the same companies. Everything about this company is a sham right down to their fake 5 star reviews.

Very very bad experience so far, cannot recommend. Pickup worked fine, aside from that the 'estimate' was completely off and we paid more - but we expected that much. However, the 'contract' states a deliver window of 5-24 business days for a move across the country. The agreement was that we would let them know as soon as we have a possible move in date. We did so 3 weeks before we started renting our apartment. Now their communication is THE DELIVERY IS 5-24 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST AVAILABLE DELIVER DAY. Which is not specified in the contract and does not make any sense, but customer service refuses to acknowledge that. By now it has been 13 DAYS SINCE we started renting our apartment. We still have no update on when our things will be delivered, and assume our belongings are still in CA (we are in MA). This is unacceptable practice and we are looking into options for how to proceed.

We moved from Atlanta to Las Vegas in February 2020. We chose Purple Heart Movers as it came up in a search as one of the top moving companies and its name tugged on our heart strings for soldiers who have been awarded the purple heart. This was our 3rd cross country move in a 16 year time span and by far it was the worst moving experience we have ever had. Our prior long distance moves with United Van Lines (2004) and Blue Ribbon Movers (2017) were near flawless. So why are we dissatisfied? Nearly every piece of furniture was damaged. The vast majority of boxes were delivered crushed, extremely dirty, and starting to break open. Our mattresses and box springs were delivered filthy and with puncture marks. Plastic totes were delivered with crushed and broken corners and lids. Some pieces of furniture were delivered with missing legs and punctured (see photo). A hope chest was literally destroyed (see photo). A 40-pound bag of cat litter was placed into a box that contained glassware-actually on top of the glassware. Of course the glassware broke, and the bag of cat litter broke open as well, spilling everywhere. (That box labelled "glassware" had been reopened to pack the cat litter into it, when the movers realized they had to include the cat litter in the move). Floor lamps were rendered useless with broken and missing parts. The parts to the bed rails for the king bed were missing, so we couldn't sleep in the bed unless we put the mattress on the floor. But would you really want to sleep on a mattress that was delivered in such a filthy state? We spent $750 in having the mattresses and box springs professionally cleaned. Many items were never delivered. Just vanished. We filed a claim with their insurance company. It turns out we got 60 cents per pound for damaged items, which amounted to $600. We were not allowed to put in a claim for the missing items as we signed off on our moving documents that all items were delivered. We can not recommend this moving company at all. Stay away.

I have moved twice with Purple Heart and both times they were great. The most recent time they were particularly wonderful. They helped load and unload everything so quickly. They took so much care not to damage any of our items. I haven’t seen a scratch on a single item. They are so kind and were very respectful to my family. I highly recommend hiring them the next time you move.

This company was excellent. They were some of the friendliest movers I have ever encountered. Everything was done professionally and they were so accommodating to my schedule. I have moved about a dozen times over the years and this is the best experience I have ever had. They did everything properly and protected my things with great care. I highly recommend Purple Heart. Thank you so much guys!

I really loved moving with this company. It's easily the best moving company I have ever used. These guys were great with my heavy furniture and didn't damage a thing! The pricing was great as well. I expected the move to cost a lot more than it did. These guys really are awesome. I have moved many times with many different movers but I will be using Purple Heart from now on. Thank you so much!

I had a wonderful experience with Purple Heart. Their movers were so nice and kept me updated through every step of my move. If I had questions they always had answers. The guys showed up to move me on time and made sure I knew exactly what they were doing. My things were handled with care and arrived safely. I really felt like they treated my home like it was their own. I couldn’t have asked for more efficient movers. I highly recommend them.

Purple Heart is MISLEADING from their sales team and takes a deposit without telling you it is non refundable. I'm contacting every government and local business agency to report the lack of professional trade in misleading customers.

The worst experience ever. Same case of almost all the bad reviews: It arrived one month later, subcontracting company, boxes (they were new) and items damaged ( super damaged), lost items ( 6-7) included furniture... When they where unloaded my items and boxes they even the worst customer service: they tell you they pay 60cents or something per lb. For the damage or lost items, and you'll receive an email with all the information about what you have to do to process the claim. It never arrive and then they doesn't answer the phone again... It's a joke. They aren't a serious company ( just to say it in a polite way).

They will low-ball your estimate to get you to sign up and then jack up the price on moving day. They will hold you, your family and your possessions hostage. They will tell you that you have 3 options; pay them the new amount, only ship up to the quote and leave everything else behind or cancel the move on the spot. Their QA team will stop answering your phone calls and their customer service will treat you like dirt. They will farm the move out to another company like national as well. When you move with Purple Heart, you are really moving with another company. They made a stressful day so much worse for me and my family. Always choose a company that charges based on weight and not volume. I should have listened to blogs that warned of this practice. --Update-- It has been 26 days since our departure and we still have not received our belongings and we have not eta from our moving company. --Update-- Our belongings were finally returned to us on the 28th. Exactly one full month from our departure. The driver said he would be arriving between 3pm and 5pm. He showed called at 5pm to say he couldn't make it, unless we wanted him to start at 9pm. We said yes. He showed up alone and methodically moved everything in over the course of 6 hours. He was the nicest person and best part about this experience, but I wish the company would have used a portion of the $4200 they wrung out of us to have a second mover to speed things up so we didn't have to be up until 3am. I am uploading some photos that are representative of the care that went into the moving, storage for a month and delivery of most of our possessions. It seemed like the boxes marked "Fragile" got the worst of it. We have broken dishes and picture frames. The worst of this was our bed, which we purchased a few months ago, had been folded and taped in half like a taco for a month and was apparently dragged rather than carried. The plastic bed cover and plastic wrapping around the bed (which they charged us $300 for) was torn and falling off. There were deep black stains all over the bed and the box spring was broken. I don't understand the purpose of this company other than to fleece people out of money. They failed at moving, packing, storage, delivery, customer service and basic kindness. But they never backed down on the price or the contract, so they got what they wanted. Our money.

They sub contract and don't protect their customers. They wash their hands of you as soon as they have your downpayment. They set me up with Fragile Movers, who raised my contract price 60% over the quote Purple Heart gave me, they would not let me sign for any insurance, they held my stuff hostage and demanded cash. I attempted to call Purple Heart 26 times the day of my move, and got NO WHERE! 40K+ in damages - that is the kind of moving company they contract with! STAY AWAY!
Hace más de 4 años
DO NOT USE! The only reason you don't see more negative reviews is because they offer minimal compensation in exchange for signing a non-disclosure for unhappy customers to remove the negative reviews. I declined the payment to warn others. My previous local move was $850. This distance move was estimated at $1700 and ended up nearly $4000 from Boston to Chicago because the company they brokered to demanded more money at pickup and again at delivery. They had coded all of my belongings as "damaged" in their system at pick up (yes, even my yoga mat and Christmas tree) and then dropped and dragged all of my furniture. Had I known the extent of the damages, I would've let them keep it. An insurance claim went nowhere since they had a code that I didn't recognize when I signed the documents. I also still have boxes that belong to another customer in hopes I can eventually find them. This company uses "Purple Heart" to market to military families (the reason I was sucked in). They are not actually combat-disabled affiliated.
